Let me up!

Since blind puppy Breeze joined our home back in July, she has grown and grown some more.  Initially, she was half the size of blind and partly deaf Brook but now Breeze is easily twice her size. Brook can walk under Breeze and Breeze weighs around 50 pounds compared to petite Brook at 32 pounds.  Lately, it seems that Breeze has discovered this size advantage while they are playing.

During the favorite wrestle play, Breeze's new tactic is to get Brook on the floor or ground, on her back and then stand over her.  Brook tries to kick at Breeze but she's just too little to have any effect.

Sometimes, Breeze will just stand there with Brook pinned to the floor/ground.  When Brook has had enough, she'll start barking.  Occasionally Breeze ignores her and that gets Brook very agitated, which is understandable.  A simple touch and being told,  "Breeze, enough" and she'll back off.

Brook gets up, they both shake themselves and start over again.

  1. With only one boy in the house, the girls will start their "let's get him!" game. This involves all the girls chasing Ryder all over the house. I was concerned at first, but quickly realized that he enjoyed all their attention.

I love watching how their games develop! And Breeze and Brook seem like such good friends. Are they really close?

    1. That must be fun having them play chase inside! Breeze and Brook are very good friends and the two that play the roughest. Sometimes it gets out of control but I'm not too surprised since Breeze is only 10 months old - still a puppy and with both being blind and Brook also partly deaf it can escalate!

How funny! I'm glad you intervene before poor Brook gets too desperate, though.

    1. I think it's only fair since Breeze is now so much bigger.

  3. Silly dogs! Norman is usually on the bottom during play also, but I really don't think he minds. He always comes back for more:)

    1. I know what you mean! Brook is the same, even after it's gotten a bit rough and snarly.
