Monday Mischief

Who goes there?

It was between night shifts and I didn't realize how soft the muddy yard was or maybe I wasn't quite awake.  Either way, nobody got their feet wiped before coming inside.  But I know who this was.

See the streaks of mud along the paw prints?

It was Azule.

"What?!  Why me?  Breeze has big feet too!"

Yes, Breeze does have big feet but I know it was Azule because she is the only one who scuffs/drags her feet when she walks.

  1. Now, technically it was Azule's pawprints BUT his servant should have wiped his feet....just sayin'.

    1. Instead, the servant got to wash the floor! I did like the pattern of paw prints but opted for a clean floor.

  2. Oh my, I remember something like this with children and powder. The four-year olds couldn't figure out how mom knew which one was playing with the powder. It was the pajama feet, one of them was torn. :-)

    1. That would have been good! Just another example of Mommy knowing everything.

I'm sure you'll be thrilled when mud season ends. I never could keep our floors clean enough when we lived up North, and that was *before* we had Silas.

    1. Honestly, it gets to a point, especially during the night shift rotation where I just don't care. I'll get the worst of it and the rest will wait a couple of days.

  4. Nice detective work, Sherlock Holmes. Lol.

Ugh, I'm not looking forward to the muddy tracks inside of the house. Some of that is probably going to be poop.

    1. We haven't had that, just mud. The worst was one day when Breeze came galloping in the house and ran right into the living room and bounced around on the couch with her big muddy feet.

Don't worry...Riley is sloppy too! We had snow here yesterday and this morning and now it's melting into mud...yuck. The towels need to come out for paw wiping now.

    1. Do you ever have those moments of what might be sheer brilliance where you fantasize about paving the yard?! (yes, I sometimes do)

  6. Hehehe - love that Azule drags her feet. That's usually what Blueberry does when she is tired or doesn't want to head back to the car after a hike. I'm like "can't you pick up your feet??!" ;)

I prefer cleaning up mud to hamster droppings. ;)

    1. Glad to know that there are other dogs that drag their feet! Azule is the only one that does it and she does it all the time.

I'm thinking that hamster droppings would be easier. How are the little critters?

  7. They all went outside, but only Azule left muddy footprints? Sounds like she was framed! ;-)

    1. Well, Azule was the one who followed me, as usual. She's my little shadow and such a sweetie, dirty feet and all.
