Breeze and Elsie

Since we returned to the house, both of the cats, Gerrard and Elsie are being very affectionate.  I think they missed us but not as much as Breeze missed her beloved Elsie.

It seems like the two of them can't quite get enough of each other.

Yes, that is Breeze lightly mouthing Elsie's head. She seems to enjoy it.

Breeze does try something similar with Gerrard but he is nowhere near as tolerant.

You may be able to see that Breeze's right "eye" (there is no eyeball) is a bit red. She has a slight infection.  Gee, wonder why....

Yet another container of yard waste that got rained on. She just had to stick her face in it. (love that underbite!)

  1. We think the mouthing is sweet. We've never been able to get that close to a cat. They always run away.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy

Hope Breeze's eye socket heals and doesn't itch.

Aw, Breeze, hope your infection clears up soon. Finn has a similar underbite - they are adorable!!

    1. Elsie is so relaxed, especially for a cat that never lived with dogs before.

Poor baby, with her red eye.

Did Elsie miss Breeze, too? Or is this affection all one-way?

  7. I love it when cats and dogs get along so well!!

I bet if you asked Breeze she'd say the small infection was worth getting to plow her face into that wonderful smelling waste. ;)

    1. You're likely right, the smellier the better! Believe me, it stunk.

  8. We lovingly refer to 'mouthing' in our house as 'tasting' lol... Depending on the dog involved you will often hear me asking them to stop tasting the kitty.

  9. Goodness - just catching up on your posts! I'm so sorry you are having to relocate. What a bummer about the limit!

Love the mouthing picture. Wish Rita would be okay with a cat (and wish I wasn't allergic.)

I hope all goes well with the relocation.

    1. It's becoming more exciting now that I've calmed down and am not so panicked. We've been lucky with this cat, she has fit in very well with the pack. Now for the 21 hour car ride.
