Our foster puppy Twiggy has settled in with the pack and doing well. In all honesty, her arrival has shaken up the pack a bit and the most affected is Breeze. She's had a rough couple of days recently.
Out in the yard, Twiggy is rambunctious and loves having playmates and toys. Don't tell Callie but Twiggy has discovered the JollyBall. She will run after a ball and will also play on her own. A game of chase is always fun too! (I tried for pictures but they are too fast so all I get are blurry pooches.)
I see Twiggy watching the others, almost as if she is observing them and taking it all in. Reminds me a bit of when Forest was first adopted, he did the same thing but more in a terrified and non socialized sort of way. Twiggy seems to be taking it all in and loving it!
In the house, Twiggy is still fascinated with the bath tub. Dirty feet and all.
They were all outside playing so I cleaned the tub and within ten minutes, Twiggy was in the tub making it dirty again.
While I was cleaning the tub I noticed that the new bar of soap I had placed in the shower was missing. I think that Twiggy ate it. The label indicates that the soap is 99% pure...so...I guess that's okay. Maybe? No ill effects so I can't even really say for certain she ate it, but I have my suspicions.
But she is just so darn cute and cuddly!

When you look at her sleeping, you can forgive her anything!
ReplyDeleteXXXOOO Daisy, Bella & Roxy
Yes, they always look extra cute and totally innocent when they are sleeping!
DeleteAw! So cute. Isn't that something about the tub? Finn went through a phase with it too. Have a good one!
ReplyDeleteWhy the tub?! Odd but, whatever. The new bar of soap is still there so maybe the first one wasn't all that tasty!
DeleteEww - if she did eat it, she will most likely have diarrhea today!
ReplyDeleteScarlett loves our tub too. When we travel for dog shows, and check into a hotel, the very first thing she does is run into the bathroom and hop in the tub! It's funny, but so odd! lol
Nothing yet, so I don't know if she ate it or not.
DeleteI am somewhat comforted knowing that other dogs like the tub, so at least Twiggy isn't all that odd!
That photo of Bill and Twiggy is precious! I wonder if Twiggy might have buried the soap or stashed it somewhere? Hopefully, there won't be any repercussions. Sorry to hear Breeze is having a hard time.
ReplyDeleteSusan and Wrigs
I think you might be on to something with Twiggy putting the soap somewhere. I can't imagine her eating it and showing no ill effects.
DeleteI'll be sure and tell Breeze you're thinking of her. She is just a bit more sensitive, I guess.
Awwww!! Twiggy is just so darn adorable!! I'm sorry that it's causing Breeze a bit on angst though, I'm sure she'll acclimatize soon! :-D Twiggy must have been super hungry to have eaten the entire bar of soap, hehehe...but at least she'll be clean through and through! ;-)
ReplyDeleteShe sure is adorable! Likely by the time Breeze gets used to her, she'll be gone. : ) LOL - if I give Twiggy a bath, she'll be clean inside and out!
DeleteI sure wish Blueberry loved jumping in the tub like that! Sure would save my back when I have to wrangle her in there for bath day!!
ReplyDeletePoor Breeze, hopefully she adjusts to the interloper soon. :)
So, have you checked the dog poop to see if any of it looked extra soapy? I wonder if a couple months from now you'll find it stashed somewhere - wouldn't that be sort of fun?!
Ha ha, I have dogs that like the tub yet they never get baths!
DeleteI'm making sure that Breeze is getting extra one on one time and lots of leg massages (her favorite) which seems to be easing her anxiety.
No soapy poop yet!
My Great Dane Remi LOVES to eat soap - he's eaten several bars of soap when we forget to hide them from him. He never has any side effects except for fresh minty breath (which is what usually gives him away).
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping she didn't eat it. The new bar of soap is still there and she hasn't even so much as sniffed it when I was watching her, so, who knows!
DeleteHowdy Mates, aww we can't eat soap cause mum used soft soap (in a bottle). Little Twiggy looks like fun. We hope Breeze is ok soon and everything settles down in your pack. Take care mates. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteTwiggy is lots of fun and Breeze does enjoy playing with her but Twiggy's manners aren't that good yet! I think that Twiggy will be spayed next week, so another couple of weeks with us then she'll be moving on.
DeleteMy mum recently got me a foster sister!!! Her name is april and she is a 14 year old toy poodle (I am about 8, 75 lbs; and am such a mixed breed even the vet cannot tell what I am). My mum tells people who ask that my "father was a handsome stranger from a good neighborhood). I really like april -- except she pees and poops in the house a lot -- mind you, that means that I cannot get blamed if I pee in the house cos mum can't tell if it is mine!!!! I let april play w/my toys and sleep on my bed and blankies!!! She will eat just about anything -- yesterdayt kitties knocked over their food, and she ate it!!!
ReplyDeleteapril will be w/us till she goes to the Bridge--good thing I like her
Hi! Glad you stopped by. That is fantastic that your Mom got you a foster sister. So many times the older ones get overlooked.
DeleteYour mixed background sounds a bit like our Breeze. She was originally described as a Cattle Dog mix. Now, she looks like a small Great Dane with a lab butt wiggle and Dalmatian spots!
Hi from Australia!! We love our ACDs here and my very first dog was an ACD cross. My best friend had a lovely tubby old ACD as well. Would love to get another one one day when I am not working full time. We saw your post on PBU and we're now following the pack's adventures :D
ReplyDeleteHello there! I am so glad that you are going to be following our adventures. Until you get another ACD you can read about our pack. We'll be checking out your adventures too.
DeleteHi, just saw ya on PBU and had to join! Sounds like you guys have plenty of adventures! Nice to meet ya!

Hi ya Max and Max's Mom! We're going to stop by your blog and see what a little guy like you gets up to in the big world.
DeleteHi everyone - we followed a link from PBU and came to say hellow. Our Mom has a special soft spot for Australian Cattle Dogs - )She's an Aussie) and has had many a cattle dog buddies through the years)
ReplyDeleteHello! We totally understand your Mom's soft spot for Australian Cattle Dogs. They are the best! Hope you enjoy following our adventures.
DeleteI laughed about the soap because that is so Delilah. I know one day she will fart bubbles. I hope I get it on video.
ReplyDeleteI am still giggling about your comment! Interesting thing about the soap...I caught (deaf) Azule licking the bar of soap yesterday. Copying or was it her? Hmmmm.......
DeleteHoly moly! That is one cute picture.
ReplyDeleteJust more photographic proof of the hard life they have!
DeleteI just love upside down puppies, they are so completely irresistible! :-)
ReplyDeleteFor a pup that has only been with us a short time, she has settled right in!
DeleteSo cute!
ReplyDeleteHad a comment the other day about a pup that ate a bar of soap - it was all fine, although things came out rather... quickly the next day! Hope the pup is okay if she did eat that soap!
Since the disappearing soap, I have caught deaf Azule licking the bar of soap. Not sure if she was copying or if it was her the first time. With the pack, there is never a dull moment!
